Huizhou City, Guangdong Province actively builds a national LED industry base

With the energy-saving boom, the LED industry has sprung up everywhere, and has been spreading branches around the mainland. Huizhou City, located in the Pearl River Delta, is actively building a national LED industry base. Today, the world's four major LED manufacturing companies such as Cree and Osram have settled in Huizhou, making the city's LED industry chain increasingly complete.

The LED industry is an important part of the modern electronic information industry system, and has an important role in driving automotive electronics, raw materials, consumer electronics, and optoelectronics.

Recently, foreign media reported that LCD TVs and lighting LEDs and their accessories are in serious shortage. Japanese home appliance companies such as Mitsubishi Chemical and Toshiba have expanded their LED production capacity. The LED industry has gradually become a strategic growth point.

It is understood that China has formed four major semiconductor lighting industry clusters in the Pearl River Delta, the Yangtze River Delta, the North, Jiangxi and Fujian. Among them, more than 1,000 LED production and R&D enterprises in the Pearl River Delta have packaged production accounting for 70% of the country and 50% of the world. It is one of the regions with the highest concentration of LED industry in China.

Yang Pengfei, director of the management committee of Huizhou Zhongkai High-tech Zone, said in an interview that LED is a semiconductor light source and is dominated by the market in the future.

He said that at present, China's domestic chip-level level is not in Wuhan, nor in Beijing and Shenzhen, but in Huizhou. One of the world's four largest semiconductor light source giants, the only one in the United States to do LED chips, Cree Optoelectronics has set up two companies in Huizhou. Cree, Osram and other global LED manufacturing companies are all in Huizhou. The LED project of South Korea's LG Group also settled in the city's Zhongkai High-tech Zone in July this year. At present, there are only a hundred LED companies in the district.

Yang Pengfei analyzed that Huizhou has many advantages in developing the LED industry. Although there are not many related companies in Huizhou, they are quite powerful in the chain of chips, packaging and display. At present, the LED lighting industry in Guangdong is large in scale, but it is mainly concentrated in the middle and downstream industries of packaging and application. The packaging and application are middle and lower reaches, and it is a labor-intensive industry. The profit only accounts for 15% of the entire industrial chain, while the chip is part of the chip. It accounts for 70%.

At present, Huizhou LED industry has formed a relatively complete industrial chain. The LED lighting industry has formed an industrial chain from packaging, photovoltaic energy-saving system solutions, lighting product development to LED lighting terminal products application and market sales. In 2009, the total output value of the LED industry in the city was about 7.6 billion yuan.

According to the senior leaders of Huizhou City, Huizhou has formed an LED industry belt from the Daya Bay-Zhongyi High-tech Zone-Huicheng District-Bolo County, and radiated to the surrounding areas, striving to build a product R&D, industrialization and application demonstration within 5 years. In one, the national LED industry base with distinctive characteristics strives to obtain the regional brand of national LED industrialization base.

Among them, Zhongkai has taken the lead in launching a new LED industry plan, and will establish a specialized LED industrial park, focusing on the research and development and industrialization of LED electronic components; encouraging powerful enterprises to break through in the upstream epitaxial wafers and chips; Supporting industries, accelerate industrial agglomeration and improve the industrial chain. The area will also promote and apply LED lighting in public and commercial lighting.

According to reports, Huizhou strives to cultivate five LED enterprises with an output value of over 1 billion yuan in 2012 and build more than three provincial-level technical engineering centers. It is estimated that the annual output value of the LED industry in the city will exceed 10 billion yuan in 2012.
