A little doubt and worry about the LED filament lamp
Why did the LED filament lamp that appeared in 2008 suddenly burst into flames during the year? In my opinion, two factors played a major role. First, the packaging enterprises are increasingly competitive. The traditional light bulb factory is facing the stage of exiting the lighting history. Therefore, some packaging companies and traditional light bulb factories hit it off and become the “fertilizer†of LED filament lamps. Second, the “nostalgic feelings†of a large consumer group. This nostalgic feeling for incandescent lamps is the soil that the LED filament lamp market can grow rapidly. However, this kind of thing will gradually disappear or shift over time in most people, especially in consumable electrical lighting products.

As lighting products, especially LED lighting products, we pay attention to the issues of light efficiency, light distribution, heat dissipation and light decay, power supply and process structure reliability. The following is the author's actual contact with the test, as well as the problems encountered by peers to share.
Light effect
The word light efficiency and energy saving can be equated in a certain sense. At present, LED filament lamps on the market are said to have a luminous efficacy of 110 lm/W or more. However, in January of this year, I tested a product of 3W in Shenzhen, a product with a color temperature of 3000K. The actual measurement is 2.3W. The actual light efficiency is 72.5lm/W under the condition of power-on and light test. After lighting for 10 minutes, the test is again tested, and the light efficiency drops to 62.9lm/W. It can also be seen that the luminous flux is affected by the temperature. The LED bulbs generally made with SMD LEDs as the light source are actually tested at around 80-100 LM/W. So in my opinion, there is no advantage in the current stage of LED filament light.
Light type

When we installed the LED filament lamp in the same way as an ordinary incandescent lamp and lit it, we found that there is a "flower of blooming light and shadow" directly under the LED filament lamp. The shadow phenomenon is obvious and has seriously affected the human eye. Look at things. Heat dissipation and light decay
At present, most technical engineers are not optimistic about the main cause of LED filament lamps or heat dissipation problems. The quality of heat dissipation directly affects the light decay of the product. Many engineers are still studying the heat dissipation technology and materials of LED lamps. In order to find a more cost-effective heat dissipation solution, the LED filament lamp was born with its "no heat sink" structure, and issued a "good heat dissipation" and "heat dissipation is not Question" this voice. This huge contrast makes engineers skeptical about this product.
LED filament lamp solves the problem of heat dissipation. Now we see the most two steps: firstly, the driving method of the filament strip is changed from the low voltage and large current to the high voltage and small current, and then the inert gas is filled in the bubble to enhance the heat dissipation. . According to an analysis report of the New Century LED Forum, when the 6W LED filament lamp is filled with inert gas, the junction temperature on the LED filament is 120 ° C, and the temperature rises to 140 ° C after the inert gas is released. Such a high junction temperature will be a rather cruel test for LED filaments - even now various technologies and materials are constantly evolving. The temperature is so high that the light decay is unavoidable.
Actual verification: 6W LED bulb with SMD LED+ die-cast aluminum radiator, the initial 1000H luminous flux is on the rise, after 1000H, the luminous flux reaches about 103% of the initial value; and the aging 100 6W LED filament lamp is uninterrupted. After lighting 100H, the light decay is about 5%. This filament bulb 100H has a light decay of 5%, indicating that the light decay has been quite powerful. At the same time, the LED filament lamp constantly appears dead light during the aging process. (Note: These products are said to be using LED filaments packaged by a well-known brand in Korea.)
Power and process and structural reliability
Power is the most important part of the product's life. When the author tested and analyzed last year, the driving method of the sample was to use the resistance to reduce the voltage. In April, one sample was changed to linear constant current. Some manufacturers in the market use non-isolated constant current solutions. It is not possible to simply judge which kind of driving method is good or bad. What is important is whether it can meet the standard requirements of the relevant stage.
Process and structure are also common issues.
