APPLICATIONS OVERVIEW
Hongda Cables supplies a comprehensive range of concentric and split concentric cables manufactured in accordance with standard BS7870. These aluminium and copper cables are devised for use by Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) to provide the final connection to residential properties. Additional functionality includes use for sub-main distribution and within high-rise buildings and street lighting systems.
The choice between Concentric and Split Concentric cable is determined by the supply type: TN-C-S supply for Concentric and TN-S supply for Split Concentric. These are LSZH cables (low smoke zero halogen) with the outersheath suitable for installations requiring a reduction to the risk to human life or sensitive equipment in the event of fire.

BS7870 Cable
Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) polymeric insulated cables manufactured in accordance with British Standard BS7870Â for use by distribution and generation utilitiesÂ
British Standard BS7870 covers low voltage and medium voltage cables used for the provision of an electricity supply from a distribution main. They are generally buried underground to connect individual houses or commercial properties to the grid bytransmission, distribution and power generation networks. These service cables are not suitable to provide overhead supply.
This Standard applies to concentric and split concentric cables for fixed installations up to and including 19/33kV and is published as a series of parts and sections. Our range ofpower network cables includes those specific to UK DNOs.
BS7870 PART 3 SECTION 3.11
BS7870 Part 3, section 3.11 covers Cross-linked Polyethylene (XLPE) insulated combined neutral and earth copper wire concentric cables with a voltage rating of 0.6/1kV.
