Taiwan University develops white light technology that produces single pixels from a single layered columnar LED

At present, white LEDs are to be produced. The above technology is an ongoing research by a team led by Yang Zhizhong, a professor at the Institute of Optoelectronic Engineering of the National Taiwan University; the basic concept is to embed quantum wells in a very densely packed gallium nitride (GaN) grown on the same substrate.
