Analyze the problem:

Sometimes, all switching power supplies are hot (more than 60 degrees), the switching power supply is placed on the flowering, and the ventilation is also OK. When testing the voltage and current, the output and input are normal. When the LED is flashing, the switching power supply has no output current. .


Possible cause analysis:


LED low-voltage spotlights are lamps that are mounted in M16 and M11 lamp cups and are directly connected to the halogen transformer electronic transformer. Since the electronic transformer is designed for halogen lamps, it is not suitable for use as a power source for LED drivers. When three LEDs are connected in series and connected to a halogen transformer, there are two problems: no light and low frequency. The rated voltage of the low-voltage halogen lamp is 12V. In order to extend the service life of the halogen lamp, the output voltage of the electronic transformer is intentionally designed to be slightly lower than the rated voltage of the halogen lamp, which is generally 11.3 to 11.5V. The conventional low-voltage LED driver is a Buck structure that requires a minimum differential voltage of 0.3V during normal operation, ie VBuck = 0.3V. If the LED's PN junction forward voltage is 3.4V, the sum of the forward voltages of the three LEDs is VF = 10.2V. The Schottky full bridge has a voltage drop of about 1V, which is VD=1V. When the input voltage VIN-(VD + VF) < VBuck, the driver will not work properly and the LED will not light up. As shown in Figure 1, the three LEDs are connected to the electronic transformer with an output voltage of 11.3V through the Buck driver. The output voltage of the driver is only 10V, which is less than the conduction voltage of the three LEDs in series, so the LED does not light up.

The spotlights are divided into low voltage and high voltage. Consumers should choose low-voltage spotlights, which have a longer life and higher light efficiency. The light effect of the spotlight is reflected by the power factor. The greater the power factor, the better the light effect. The power factor of the ordinary spotlight is about 0.5, the price is cheap, and the power factor of the high-quality spotlight can reach 0.99, and the price is slightly expensive. Spotlights are generally used to enhance the illumination of decorative objects. They are usually embedded in ceilings or walls. When spotlights work, they generally emit higher temperatures. Therefore, it is necessary to purchase high-quality products, otherwise there will be safety hazards. When using the spotlight, it should be used with the transformer.
