According to the new US energy law, the 30% investment tax credit for solar energy companies will be extended from the current December 31, 2008 to another eight years until December 31, 2016.
In addition, the tax incentive period for renewable energy companies (such as solar power and wind power) will be extended for another four years.
For general and solid-state lighting, the bill proposes to phase out 40W, 60W, 75W and 100W incandescent bulbs from January 2012 to January 2014. By then, energy-saving and environmentally friendly LED lights are expected to become an important force in lighting, and have great positive benefits for the global LED industry.
