LED light source will have local standards

The Provincial LED Light Sources Standardization Technical Committee was established. In the future, the LED industry technical standards will be missing and the quality of products will be uneven. Yesterday, Guangdong Provincial Quality Inspection Center and Guangdong Provincial Institute of Standardization (hereinafter referred to as "Standardization Institute") jointly established the Guangdong Provincial LED Lighting Standardization Technical Committee was established in Dongguan, Philips, Osram, NVC Lighting, Zhen Mingli Group and other 51 companies have become Its members.

After the establishment of the committee, it will establish the Guangdong LED standard technology system, and will organize the development, revision and review of local standards for the LED light source industry in Guangdong Province.

Yesterday, Deng Zhiguang, deputy mayor, Zhang Yanfei, deputy director of the Provincial Quality Supervision Bureau, Chen Tianjun, member of the Provincial Science and Technology Department, Luo Xiaoqin, director of the Municipal Bureau of Quality Supervision, and nearly 200 members of the committee and related companies attended the meeting.

It is understood that in order to further grasp the standard discourse right and enhance the competitiveness of LED industry, Dongguan Quality Inspection Center relies on the national semiconductor light source product quality supervision and inspection center (Guangdong) that is under construction to promote industrial development with standards and actively apply for the construction of LED light sources in Guangdong Province. The Secretariat of the Standardization Technical Committee assumes the unit and successfully completes the preparatory work. Guangdong LED Light Sources Standardization Technical Committee hired Gan Ziyu, one of the famous physicists, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and one of the founders of the semiconductor light source industry to serve as Chairman of the Board; Wang Gang, Chairman of the LED Industry and Research Institute Alliance of Guangdong Province, served as the Deputy Chairman. Large companies such as Philips, Osram, NVC Lighting, and the Neo-Neon Group have 51 members.

The establishment of the LED light source standardization technical committee of Guangdong Province can be said to be an orderly development track for the construction of the LED officials standard system in Guangdong Province. Through the establishment of a standardization committee that matches the development of the LED industry, we will further strengthen research on basic standards, product standards, and test method standards for LED lighting products, and improve product testing standards, safety standards, performance standards, and energy efficiency standards. Seize the high ground of standards, implement independent innovation, and increase the status and competitiveness of Guangdong LED light source products in the industry chain.
