AMD does not intend to immediately enter the tablet

The tablet is definitely one of the hot topics in the near term, but AMD is quite calm and does not rush into it, but decides to wait for the opportunity like the Internet.

Leslie Sobon, global product marketing director of AMD, said in an interview: “I think we treat tablets as if they were netbooks... With Ontario, we have a good chance...to get a share of the netbook market... Flat We won't turn to it until the machine proves successful..."

Obviously, Leslie Sobon's argument is exactly the same as that of AMD CEO Dirk Meyer. Although AMD is the world's second-largest chip maker, its technology and financial capabilities are far inferior to those of Intel. It is difficult for them to immediately join a market when it rises. It is only a wait-and-see attitude.

AMD had previously announced that it intends to push its own x86 architecture processor into the tablet, but for the time being it will not use the ARM architecture to develop the corresponding dedicated SoC chip, nor will it directly compete with ARM.
