According to reports, the 30-year-old Mandel is a customer service representative of a business process outsourcing (BPO) company based in Calcutta, India. His current income is 8,600 rupees (about 904 yuan). Unlike six months ago, he can now afford the family's daily expenses.

At first, although Mandel University graduated from school, he was unable to find a stable career in his hometown of West Midlands, West Bengal, India.

Earlier this year, the shy Mandel participated in a short training program. The training was organized by the Anudip Foundation, a non-profit skill development agency in Kolkata City for a period of three months. The Anudip Foundation has trained many non-technical talents from second-tier cities and has acquired certain skills. Mandel's courses include basic training in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint, as well as oral English training and practical training. Shortly after completing the course, he found a stable job under the guidance of the Anudip Foundation.

Many like-minded people from Indian towns like Mandel have difficulty finding jobs due to physical disabilities, lack of socio-economic background, or lack of education. But now, these people who are struggling on the edge of their lives have found hope in life in institutions like the Anudip Foundation. Such organizations include the People's Lovers Group in Delhi, India and the Dr. Reddy Foundation in Hyderabad. The Love and Humanity organization teaches people skills such as basic computing, data entry, and mobile phone repair. The Dr. Reddy Foundation helps farmers in remote areas from 20 states use technology to increase production. This type of training also helps people who want to change careers.

According to reports, skilled workers such as Mandel received jobs that usually did not find many successors. Moreover, technical workers in small towns are more suitable for such repetitive and low-skilled jobs than engineering graduates.

A business process outsourcing company called iMerit absorbed 80% of the technical talent directly from the Anudip Foundation and provided them with skills training courses to make up for some of their professional knowledge gaps. (Internship Compilation: Nie Yufang Reviewer: Tan Liya)
